Expect the Unexpected in Minneapolis

To say that our family adventure in Minneapolis this weekend did not go as expected would be a huge understatement. The premise is simple enough to head down for the Christmas shopping on Saturday, go to the spa while the guys were on the Giants / Vikings game on Sunday, drive home on Monday.

We get a lot of storms on the prairies, but the "Great Storm 2010" was so strange. When we arrived around 08:30 Friday night, there was no trace of snow. But on Saturday morning I could not see over the pond that we were staying in August and was totally moved in and we had to wait to be hit. As we kept our plans titles Mall of America, we thought: "We are hardy folk-how bad can that be?" OMGoodness-visibility was zero and that was before the snow froze on our wiper blades, and we could see the windshield. D had to skillfully maneuver around the car into a ditch and others parked under the overpass trying to clear their positions.

We first lap of the mall and when we rendezvoused around 14:00, we let the band decide where they want to eat. I was a little surprised when the nearly 40 choices, they chose well-known - Tony Roma. I think they could see how stressed they are and they wanted something that was "safe and familiar ."

So we settled in for a "stack" chicken, seafood fettuccine and ribs, of course. the food was enjoyable, but it is enough to service a short arm and distracted. Few are aware that the city was in chaos, and the center was making arrangements to get staff home safely close the wound. We are reasonable people, we realized that we were not their priority.

We were all seated at table, enjoying each other's company and reflect on our adventure so far. We knew that our car ran through a storm-angels have been satisfied.
